About Us

Mission Statement:

Sharing the love of Jesus Christ by alleviating suffering and injustice faced by those with spiritual, emotional, and material needs.

Vision
Statement:

We aspire to be a change agent, paving a pathway toward sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Organizational
History:

Bridges Cooperative Ministry, formerly known as United Methodist Human Services, was started as a relief agency after the 1977 Johnstown flood. Now as an independent ministry, BCM serves the needs of those living in daily instability and creates pathways to transition away from poverty.

Who We
Serve:

Bridges Cooperative Ministry reaches into at least six counties in West-Central Pennsylvania: Cambria, Somerset, Indiana, Bedford, Blair, and Clearfield. Through our faith in Christ and our community partnership approach, we develop relationships that empower and transform individual lives and bring hope for future generations.

Our Staff:

Our staff is committed to the wellbeing of the people and community we serve. We believe each person should have a voice and the ability to thrive, especially those who have been long overlooked. Although there can be layers of brokenness, we see each person as valuable and capable, created in the image of God. Through long-term loving commitment we want to nurture life and wholeness in everyone we serve. In partnership with others, we know we are a piece of the puzzle that brings life to our community.
